Distribution: Australia across the northwest near Arnhem Land and the Kimberley towards the Gulf of Carpentaria. They inhabit billabongs, wetlands
and other areas of slow-moving water.
Housing: 100ltr aquarium minimum, a lid is required as this species jumps.
Water: 22 to 27 degrees, PH 7 to 7.5,
Diet: Purple Spotted Gudgeons are predatory by nature and will eat earth worms, most frozen foods and can be trained on to some dry foods.
May also be predatory on small fish.
Comments: A colorful peaceful addition to a community aquarium. it will however eat fish small enough to fit in its mouth.
